Company IntroductionVirgin America is a U.S. based low-cost airline that began service on 8 August 2007. The airline’s stated aim is to provide low-fare, high-quality service for "long-haul point-to-point service between major metropolitan cities on the Eastern and West Coast seaboards". Flight Crew RequirementsVirgin America is currently hiring pilots. Planning to hire 180+ pilots in 2008. Minimum Requirements • FAA ATPL • 5000 TT airplanes (excluded: Helo, Sim, F/E time) • Airbus A320 TR (preferred) • FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate • Check Airmen or Instructor time highly desired • FCC Radio License • Must pass FAA mandated drug test • Must possess a valid U.S. Driver’s license • Current passport • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. • An established knowledge of MicroSoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Internet e-mail functions Recent flight experience: • 1000 hours TT as PIC, in turbine or jet aircraft | |||||||||||
Cabin Crew Job RequirementsVirgin America is currently hiring flight attendants. Job Requirements • Must be at least 21 years old • Authorized to work in the United States • Willing to travel extensively • Willing to be based out of San Francisco and fly out of SFO on short notice • Able to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended hours • Possess and maintain a valid United States passport or foreign passport • Have the right to travel freely in & out of the US • Have the right to travel to & from all cities served by Virgin America Airlines without restriction • Demonstrate dependability • Physically fit in order to pass applicable training programs, including being able to open aircraft doors, lift emergency window exits (approx. 30 lbs.), assist with carry-on luggage stowage, push meal & beverage carts (up to 150 lbs.) • Body size cannot exceed specific aircraft dimensions (example: jumpseat, harness without modification, cabin aisle and emergency exits) • Ability to perform safety related procedures. • Able to reach in overhead bins and galley compartments to retrieve emergency equipment and service items. • Must successfully pass a background check and a drug screen Professional Certifications and Education Required: • High school diploma or GED required • College degree desirable | |||||||||||
